Your hosts in Cappadocia
La Maison du Reve is run by the friendly Gökgöz
family.
The owner, Metin Gökgöz was born in Uçhisar, Cappadocia,
Turkey, in 1953. He was captivated by the dream he saw one night. He saw
the great view of the cappadocia. He then bought a three-roomed house
and turned the house into a pension - with just three rooms. The name
"LA MAISON DU REVE" means"THE DREAM HOUSE" in French.
Today, La Maison du Reve boasts 30 rooms all with en-suite, shower equiped
bathrooms. This growth was made possible by his and his family's dedication
to providing great service, which had guests returning year after year.
As the years passed, he continuously perfected everything, and not only
increased the number of rooms, but also had them equipped with the modern
conveniences today's travellers expect.
The only thing that couldn't be improved is the view. It was perfect
all along - and it still is. But with the terraces and all window restaurant
- it's much more relaxing and comfortable to enjoy it.
Fatih, Metin's son - just back after finishing his army service - lends
the hotel a youthful atmosphere and also adds his talent to running the
hotel. He speaks English, and - like his father - French. He's also responsible
for the delightful meals that are served to the guests - he's a professional
cook who polished his talent in the Tourism High School of Nevsehir.
Every summer, La Maison du Reve's staff is also expanded by a youngster
from one of the nearby villages - giving them a useful glimpse into the
tourism industry, as well as a chance to further improve their foreign
language skills.
